How we write, check and update the guides, case notes and tools on this website.

Who writes and who is responsible

Every guide and case note carries the name of its author and the date it was published or last revised. The author is responsible for its accuracy. Our author is Benfer Antony A B.

What we rely on

We write from the law as published: Acts, rules, notifications, circulars and orders, and the official portals, which we link to. Where a rule changes, we say so, and where we are unsure we say that too.

What we do not do

  • We do not invent case law, statistics, testimonials, credentials or results.
  • We do not promise or guarantee tax savings, refunds, approvals or outcomes.
  • We do not copy other firms' content.
  • This website carries no advertising.

How case notes are made

Case notes are summaries of real orders we have handled. We remove names, identification numbers such as PAN and GSTIN, addresses and officers' names before publishing. Rupee figures are quoted from the order. Where we add up figures, we show the working on the page. We publish a case note only after the matter is concluded.

Dates, updates and corrections

Tax rules change. Each article shows its date, and each calculator shows the date of the rules it uses. We revisit an article when the rule it describes changes. If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page. We correct it and note the date.

General information, not advice

Content on this website is general information. It is not advice on your specific facts, and reading it does not create a client relationship. If you need advice, book a consultation. Where a matter needs a specific professional, such as an advocate or a practising Chartered Accountant, we say so early.
